Notes from Marawi

In May 2017, clashes broke out between Philippine government forces and ISIS-linked terror groups in the island of Mindanao, the Southern region of the Philippines. For five months, the city of Marawi was the centre of the fighting that has caused the displacement of more than 350,000 people and hundreds of deaths. Today, Marawi City remains wrecked from the conflict and has yet to rebuild.
